Came out here two weekends in a row. New toy I had to test out.
Hammers tripod & Eddie Bauer stool. Great shooting accessories. |
Here's the new toy. Micro Roni G4. You slide your Glock into it. Rails on three sides let you attach accessories. Right now, I got my EOTech & Magpul backup sights. I'd likely order the thumbrest to put on the left-hand picatinny rail.
Micro Roni was a blast to shoot.... Except this. My Glock 19(Gen 4) was perfect until today. Only when attached to Micro Roni, it experienced handful of FTE(failure to eject). I did this when I got my very first handgun(Glock 17), most likely due to limp wristing.
I believe it's caused by how I'm holding the Micro Roni stock when I'm shooting it. As it stands today, Micro Roni is a fun plinking gun, not a defensive weapon. At least for me. ***EDIT***
Just thought of something else. I'll just copy & paste here:
"I shot a bunch with Micro Roni, first. Handful of FTE. Then I shot few mags worth, without Micro Roni(probably two boxes, 100rds). Back to shooting perfect again.
Gun & magazine's in their prime, and ammo were all CCI(Blazer). Most consistent ammo I've ever shot, as far as reliability goes. I'd be shocked if it was the Glock or the ammo.
Yesterday, only thing I could think of was the way I was holding the gun, but I totally forgot about this:
Potential culprit: Micro Roni charging handle. You slide the serrated part of your Glock slide into it, and it works as the charging handle. One thing I noticed about the plastic mold on Micro Roni's that they are cut/trimmed little rough, at least on mine. It's possible this charging handle's causing excessive friction to affect the action. Is it possible for it to cause FTEs?"
Anyway, another theory. Moving on:
Stock makes Glock very dirty. I have to clean it now. lol I haven't cleaned it or lubed it in I don't know how long. I'm not a good Glock shooter, but this is why I love this gun. Reliable, reliable, reliable.
This is with Glock 19, from about 12 yards(no Micro Roni). I'm not really accurate with this handgun, but I've been working on it. While the holes are all over the place, they got closer & closer to the middle as it went on. However, one touching the bullseye, I'm not gonna lie, that was one shot I took from 5 yards. lol
Second time I got to use this piece of log to staple targets on. It was on its last leg this time around & after taking on much .223 & 9mm from my AR & Micro Roni/Glock 19 today, it just disintegrated. Thank you for your service little buddy. :(
New makeshift target:
Mountain Lion repellent(actually seen one in these woods). |
This guy... Burris scope flip-up cap keeps coming off. Today was no exception. I didn't even realize it came off, I just found it on the ground between where I was shooting from & the target. :( |
It was totally Good Day by Ice Cube today. I was up there for hours & did not hear one vehicle, saw no other soul. Weather was just gorgeous, scenery's great..... Please pickup spent casing & other trash other people left behind. Lot of my pictures show trash left by other people, I pickup what I can. Lot of our "shooting" spots are being shutdown due to bad etiquette like leaving garbage & unsafe practices(shooting without good berm/backstop). We like guns, don't make it tough for other like-minded people to shoot guns!
New profile pic amrite.
Not a good practice, but I'm starting to like going shooting by myself. :D
